Pruning Private Trees

The following considerations apply to the pruning of private trees by the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB):

Pruning may be required when branches from private trees grow lower than 14 feet and interfere with the public right of way, MPRB property or City property
The Forestry Department will request that the property owner provide permission for the pruning
The pruning will not take place on private property
The Forestry Department shall send notification of the need for pruning to the Division of Regulatory Services for enforcement purposes if the preceding considerations cannot be met
