Division of Special Services Filming Rates and Information


The Minneapolis park system offers unique and beautiful back drops for any photo shoot or filming location. Permits for still photo shoots and filming are required.

Applications for Filming and Commercial Photo Shoots will not be considered if not received at least 10 days prior to intended shoot.

 
Still Photo Fees Still Photo Permit Application


Commercial Per Day & Location $300.00
Individual/Group Portrait
Still photography permits at the Cowles Conservatory are only permitted during hours of operation; permit applications are excepted no more than 4 weeks in advance.
Per 1-1/2 hour $45.00
Individual/Group Portrait
Still photography permits at the Cowles Conservatory are only permitted during hours of operation; permit applications are excepted no more than 4 weeks in advance.
Annual $300.00
Change Order Fee
That require a new permit to be issued:
Per Order $35.00

 
Video Filming Fees Video Filming Permit Application


Documentary Per Day & Location $250.00
Low Impact Commercial Per Day & Location $500.00
High Impact Commercial Per Day & Location $1,000.00
Major Motion Picture Fees negotiable
Low impact* fee
*Low impact is defined as:
Less than five crew and less than ten talents
A maximum of two crew trucks allowed
No semi-trailers
   
Change Order Fee that require a new permit to be issued   $50.00

 

Insurance Information


Applicants must file a certificate of insurance in the amount of $250,000/$750,000 for bodily injury - $300,000 property damage with the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board as an additional named insured for the time associated with the event.
