  1. How do I get a tree planted in my boulevard?

    Residents and property owners may make a special request for a tree to be planted in a boulevard or park, subject to review and approval by the Forestry Division. Plantings must conform to the Master Planting Plan. Only the Director of Forestry can approve deviations from the plan.   8. Where can I find free wood chips?

    The Forestry Division has established neighborhood wood chip piles for public use. There are currently 15 neighborhood sites located throughout the City. Learn more about the availability of wood chips in the wood chip program and locate a wood chip pile near you in our list of wood chip distribution sites.

  9. How do I dispose of private wood?

    Property owners can use the City’s regular yard waste services to get rid of small storm debris, however, the City will not pick up wood debris placed on the boulevards from private tree contractors. Learn more about disposal requirements in the disposal of private wood debris Division.

  10. How do I know if my tree is hazardous?

    The Forestry Division acts as a consultant to the Division of Regulatory Services - Housing Inspections regarding inspection of private trees for the purpose of determining if a tree poses a hazard.
